Goldfinch fine feathers watercolour
“Each brushstroke represents a strand of feather. I have painted a black undertone below the yellow wing, using tiny black brushstrokes, to give the impression of white/ brown feathers lying across the black undertone. I don’t use white paint, so the white in the painting is the paper”
Goldfinch was painted using only 3 primary colours. No black, no white, no masking fluid. Just pure watercolour.
